What is Planned Giving?

Planned giving is a type of charitable giving that allows you to express your personal values by integrating your charitable, family and financial goals. Making a planned charitable gift usually requires the assistance of the charity’s development professional and/or a knowledgeable advisor such as an attorney, financial planner, or CPA to help structure the gift.  Join the Maine Planned Giving Council here:

Welcome to the

Maine Planned Giving Council

Founded in 1995, the Maine Planned Giving Council (MPGC) is a statewide, independent, public charity created to encourage charitable giving in Maine through planned giving. The MPGC defines planned giving as any deferred or current charitable gift where the donor's objectives and circumstances are fully considered in order to provide maximum benefit to both the donor and the charity.

Led by volunteers, there are no paid staff members. The MPGC is the sole Maine chapter of the National Committee on Planned Giving, (now called the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning).

The Partnership for Philanthropic Planning  is a nationwide, federation of 108 state and local chapters dedicated to the advancement of charitable giving through planned gifts.

We invite you to become a member of the Maine Planned Giving Council here.   With that download PDF form, you will be able to join the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, as well. Thank you.
